How Best Tours Costa Rica (“BestToursCR,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, shares, and safeguards personal information when you use our website or arrange a tour, transfer, itinerary, or other travel service with us.

At a glance. You can browse most of BestToursCR without creating an account. We ask for personal information only when you contact us, request a quote, reserve a service, make a payment, or otherwise choose to provide it. We do not sell or rent your personal information.
1. Who this policy covers
This policy applies to personal information processed through besttourscr.com and through our reservation-related communications, including messages you send by website form, email, telephone, or WhatsApp. It applies when BestToursCR acts as the organization deciding how information is used for our own tours, private transportation, custom itineraries, and related customer service.

2. Information we collect
Information you provide
We may collect your name, email address, phone or WhatsApp number, travel dates, accommodation or pickup details, itinerary interests, group size, and the contents of messages you send us.
Booking information
When you request or reserve a service, we may collect information needed to plan and operate it, such as the service selected, passenger count and ages, flight and luggage details, special requests, and other logistics information.
Payment information
PayPal processes website payments. We may receive transaction and payment-status information, but we do not receive or store your full payment-card number.
Website information
We may process technical and usage information such as IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, referring pages, approximate location, cookie identifiers, and consent preferences.
When necessary to safely arrange a service, and only when you or your group organizer choose to share it, we may process limited information about children, mobility or accessibility, dietary needs, pregnancy, health, or other safety-relevant circumstances. Please provide only what is necessary for the service. Do not send passport details, full payment-card data, or other highly sensitive information through an unsecured message or form unless we specifically request it through an appropriate method.
3. How we use personal information
- Respond to your questions, quote requests, and trip-planning messages.
- Process, confirm, operate, change, or cancel reservations and communicate service logistics.
- Coordinate with the service providers needed to deliver your confirmed tour, transfer, or itinerary.
- Process payments and eligible refunds through PayPal, and maintain booking and financial records.
- Keep the website secure, prevent fraud or misuse, troubleshoot, and improve our services.
- Measure website performance and advertising effectiveness in accordance with applicable consent requirements.
- Meet legal, accounting, insurance, tax, consumer-protection, and safety obligations.
We process information when it is needed to respond to your request or perform a booking, with your consent where required, to meet legal obligations, or for legitimate business and security purposes permitted by law.
4. How we may share personal information
We share only the information reasonably necessary for the purpose described above. Depending on your request or reservation, recipients may include:
- Independent service providers such as transportation providers, tour and activity operators, guides, accommodations, parks, restaurants, or other suppliers needed to deliver a booked service.
- Payment providers, including PayPal, to process payment and refund transactions.
- Technology and communication providers that support website hosting, forms, email, analytics, security, or business operations.
- Google services used for tag management, analytics, and advertising measurement, as described below.

We do not sell or rent personal information. Service providers and independent suppliers have their own privacy practices; their use of information is governed by their applicable notices and contracts.
5. Cookies, Google tools & similar technologies
Cookies are small files placed in a browser. BestToursCR and our technology partners may use cookies or similar technologies for essential site functions, preference and consent management, website measurement, and advertising measurement.
Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics & Google Ads
Our site uses Google Tag Manager to manage tags, including Google Analytics and Google Ads measurement tags. These tools may process technical and usage information such as browser data, IP address, pages visited, campaign identifiers, and conversion events. Our current Google consent configuration sends default-denied signals for advertising and analytics storage. You can also control cookies through your browser settings; disabling cookies may affect certain website features.
Third-party services may process information outside Costa Rica. When information is shared internationally, we seek to limit it to what is necessary and use providers that offer appropriate safeguards for the service.

BestToursCR is based in Costa Rica and seeks to operate consistently with applicable privacy law, including Costa Rica’s Law No. 8968 where it applies. You may also have the right to contact the competent data-protection authority in your jurisdiction.
8. Children, third-party links & policy updates
BestToursCR serves families and may receive limited information about children from a parent, guardian, or authorized group organizer when it is needed to plan or safely operate a service. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children for independent marketing purposes.
Our website may link to third-party websites or services. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies, and we encourage you to review them. We may update this Privacy Policy as our services, legal requirements, or technologies change. The “Last updated” date above will show when the policy was most recently revised.
